A cyanotype still from the Hours of Blue Series

These photo galleries showcase Curtis Davis’s dazzling array of images featuring the fractals that only nature can bring. The icons on this page were from Chinese calligraphy I did on a particular work in a series of cyanotypes I did based on my friend’s, Lawrence Patrick Hill’s, name scribed in Chinese. I took the interesting organic parts of the calligraphy to show the similarity between the forms and that of plant-like shapes from the plant consciousness.

About the Art:
The name of the piece, “Ver Ignis” was inspired by passages of Henry David Thoreau’s “Walden” translated into Latin, meaning ‘true fire.”
